Healing our community.

About Us

The After It Rains Foundation began as a way to give back to the community and better the lives of others facing similar issues as I did. Growing up, I lived with a parent that struggled with addiction. The impact of these circumstances on my long-term mental health has been a long and challenging road. I did not have access to the mental health care or resources I needed, leaving me ill-equipped to battle with the after-effects it causes later in life. However, my experiences did teach me some absolute truths about life. Children need to feel seen, loved, and supported. Children deserve a childhood and a community that cares for them. As adults, we must advocate for children who do not know how to advocate for themselves.

I’ve had multiple friends and loved ones endure similar circumstances throughout life. Some of their parents got sober like mine thankfully did. Others have been left behind by their addicted parent due to abandonment or untimely death. These friends and family members were my community and support system, but not all children have that. As an adult on the other side of this existence, it’s become my passion to help future generations find their community and the support system they deserve. At A.I.R, our mission is to give children impacted by addiction a fighting chance for a bright future. We hope you’ll join us in making a difference and giving hope to those who need us most.
